Attention homeowners, is your home in need of repairs?
The City of Hornell is considering the submission of an application for funding for a housing rehabilitation program, to be available to owner-occupants of single family homes within the City of Hornell.
Contractors wanted for City-wide Residential Rehabilitation Program
SEEKING CONTRACTORS FOR HOUSING REHABILITATION
The City of Hornell is seeking qualified contractors for the City-wide Residential Rehabilitation Program. Contractors must have an EPA license as “Renovators” for lead-safe work practices, maintain adequate insurance and have a City Contractors License. Interested contractors should call the City of Hornell Community Development Office at (607) 324-7421 to obtain a copy of the Qualifications Statement form to be completed. Applicants should submit resumes to the Community Development Office, PO Box 627, 82 Main Street, Hornell, NY 14843 on or before May 30, 2025.

Rehabilitation Inspector wanted for City-wide Residential Rehabilitation Program
SEEKING REHABILITATION INSPECTOR
The City of Hornell is seeking a qualified housing rehabilitation inspector for part-time work on an on-going rehabilitation program. The inspector will conduct initial inspections on houses proposed for rehabilitation, prepare work write-ups and cost estimates, inspect work in progress, approve pay requests from contractors and perform final inspections. Applicants should submit resumes to the Community Development Office, PO Box 627, 82 Main Street, Hornell, NY 14843 on or before June 6, 2025.

The City of Hornell would like to remind all city residents that putting leaves, grass or snow in the road is illegal. Residents are encouraged to keep areas clean from debris, to allow for effective drainage. Please place bagged leaves at the curb for pickup.
